A & A Fielding have been helping the London Road Collective with the heritage aspects of their aspirations to take over the running and management of the former Mid-Cheshire College site at London Road, Northwich.

The Verdin Technical School and Gymnasium was originally donated to the people of Northwich by the salt proprietor, Sir Joseph Verdin to commemorate Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubille in 1897.

It was built by local firm Molenyeux and architect Joseph Cawley.

For information about the London Road Collective look for web site of artist Carolyn Shepherd and the London Road Studios Facebook page.

This amazing building is not listed, but is within the Northwich Conservation Area.

The Collective is seeking grant aid from the Arts Council and the Heritage Lottery Fund and other sponsors and donors to use the building for rentable artist studios.

Sadly this site has now been sold to a developer for conversion to flats.
